The Pope's Pit Viper is a stunningly beautiful venomous snake, characterized by its vibrant, electric green body and prehensile tail which typically ends in a burnt red or rusty tip. They possess the classic triangular viper head and heat-sensing pits. Sexual dimorphism is often present; males typically display a distinct bi-colored stripe (red over white) running along the lateral body, while females are often solid green or have a simple white stripe. They have striking, large yellow or golden eyes.
