The Spotted Tree Gecko is a medium-sized gecko that resembles a "bodybuilder" version of the common house gecko. It has a rough, bumpy skin texture (tubercles) covered in black spots on a grey or brown background. On the back of its neck, there is often a distinctive "W" or horseshoe-shaped marking. Like the Tokay Gecko, they possess strong jaws and a loud vocalization ("tok-tok").

Notes Husbandry: Hardy and adaptable. They require vertical space and cork bark hides.
Temperament: They are generally skittish and fast. While not as aggressive as a Tokay, they can deliver a pinch if handled roughly.

Why Source This Species:

  • Robust Alternative: A great alternative for keepers who want something larger and more impressive than a House Gecko but smaller (and quieter) than a Tokay.

  • Low Cost: An excellent entry-level species for novice gecko keepers on a budget.

  • Active Night Life: They are efficient hunters and interesting to watch in a moonlight-lit terrarium.
