The Giant Blue Scorpion, formally known as the Asian Forest Scorpion, is a large, impressive arachnid. It has a glossy, black exoskeleton that shines with a greenish-blue hue under natural light (and glows bright neon green under UV/Blacklight). It features large, bulbous claws (pedipalps) used to crush prey.
Notes Comparison: Often confused with the Emperor Scorpion (Pandinus imperator). The Asian Forest Scorpion is slightly more aggressive/defensive and prone to stinging or pinching if harassed, whereas Emperors are more docile.
Husbandry: Very hardy. Requires humid substrate (coco fiber) and a hide.
Why Source This Species:

-
Budget Pet: At $5.50, they are an incredibly affordable exotic pet that looks dangerous but is relatively safe.
-
Impressive Look: With their large claws and armored look, they satisfy the desire for a "scary" pet without the high risk of a venomous snake.
